Current knowledge reveals detrimental outcomes for literacy in Australian major college college students with Victorians falling the furthest “down the ladder”, says ACU Analysis Fellow Kevin Donnelly.
“It’s an issue that’s been there for perhaps the final eight or ten years,” he informed Sky Information host Peta Credlin.
“The priority I’ve … could be very little has been achieved to try to tackle it.”
Mr Donnelly stated there have been “variety of causes” why boys carried out worse than women on literacy assessments – together with the curriculum “being feminised”.
“The way in which academics educate, what occurs within the classroom by way of pedagogy … the best way classes are structured – extra appropriate for women.
“All of the analysis is proving that – for instance, boys want extra construction, extra self-discipline, they want extra express instructing and that’s one thing we’ve misplaced over the twenty, thirty years.”
