Leicester Metropolis supervisor Brendan Rodgers confirmed on Thursday that the membership is engaged on a contract extension for 35-year-old Foxes icon Jamie Vardy.
Vardy arrived at Leicester again in 2012 and has since racked up 164 targets in 386 appearances for the membership. Solely Arthur Chandler (273 targets), who performed from 1923-35, and Arthur Rowley (251 targets from 1950-58) have scored extra for Leicester.
The previous England striker has now registered seven consecutive Premier League seasons with a minimum of 13 targets.
Vardy is within the closing 12 months of his contract, however Foxes boss Rodgers is optimistic he’ll signal one other deal.
“[Vardy’s] urge for food continues to be there,” he stated. “We wish to lengthen his keep right here and that’s one thing the membership and his representatives will take a look at.
“Jamie thrives on balls into house behind the defence, and if there is no such thing as a house, he thrives on low crosses into the field. It is so simple as that. If we will do this extra, there might be alternatives for him and different gamers.”
Vardy, who missed almost 4 months final season with hamstring and knee accidents, will flip 36 in January.
