I’ve been in Bitcoin since 2017 and have been stacking steadily ever since. Today, I have over 7 figures worth of BTC… Yet I drive a cheap rental car. Here’s why. Back in 2022, near the depths of the bear market, I needed a new car. Bitcoin was around $20K. I had a choice: buy more Bitcoin or spend $35K on a German sports car. I bought the car. Huge mistake. The thing was an absolute lemon. Over the next few years, I dumped nearly $20K into repairs. Eventually, the transmission blew and I sold the car for $3K. 😭 But the real cost wasn’t the car or the repairs. It was the opportunity cost. That original $35K could have bought me roughly 1.5 BTC. So when I needed another car recently, I decided I wasn’t making the same mistake twice. This is my third Bitcoin cycle. I’m driving a cheap rental and putting the difference into BTC until Bitcoin is back over $100K. Then I’ll buy the new car. The lesson? When an asset you strongly believe in is heavily discounted, sometimes the smartest thing you can buy is… nothing. Delay the upgrade. Keep stacking. There will always be another car. But there won’t always be another opportunity to buy Bitcoin at these prices. submitted by /u/Able-Upstairs-9875 |
