Catching Sparkling Aniimo can be tricky, but there are ways to increase your chances of getting one. While they look cool, Aniimo with the Sparkling mutation aren’t a priority, as they come with no other benefits. This form is different from the Prismana Aniimo, which is another system entirely.
Best Ways to Catch Sparkling Aniimo
There are various ways to obtain Sparkling Aniimo, from relying on good old luck to unlocking and acquiring certain abilities and items that make it much easier.
It’s important to remember that Aniimo with the Sparkling mutation have no additional advantages in combat, as the Sparkling form is cosmetic. It means the Aniimo will look different from its other counterparts, but other than that, it performs the same in battle.
The Sparkling Radar
Once you fill at least 80% of a region’s collection, you unlock a radar thanks to the Apex Perk. This radar lets you know when there is one nearby. While it doesn’t tell you exactly where the Aniimo is located, you at least know that it’s close to your current location.
One thing I must add, though, is that they are much harder to catch, so you’ll need to bring along your best Aniipods.
Boost Sparkling Chances
You can boost the chance of Sparkling Aniimo spawning by unlocking buffs via the Branch of a region. This costs Lumin Amber, as does most other things with the Branch, but it’s a useful buff to have nonetheless.
While Nurturing, you can use an offering to increase the chances of Sparkling Aniimo spawning during Group Appearances. With the Breezy Plains Branch, you can unlock the Sparkling Encounter ability at 90.
I recommend saving your Lumin Amber for other nodes at first, just because this Aniimo form is purely cosmetic and offer no advantages to your team, so they’re not really a priority.
Sparkling Eggs
As the name suggests, Sparkling Eggs guarantee a Sparkling Aniimo when they hatch.
Wonder Eggs
There are also Wonder Eggs, which guarantee either a Sparkling or Alpha Aniimo. In my opinion, I’d rather get an Alpha from a Wonder Egg, as they actually make a difference in combat compared to Sparkling Aniimo.
Departure Sparkling Egg
All new players get a Departure Sparkling Egg during the early game, which acts the same as a regular Sparkling Egg, guaranteeing an Aniimo with the Sparkling mutation once hatched.
Sparkling Cube Aniipods
A Sparkling Cube can be used to add the Sparkling trait to any Aniimo you find. It also guarantees a successful catch, which is a bonus.
To get a Sparkling Cube, you can spend 1K Sparkling Crystals at any Outpost Shop. You can also obtain them by levelling up the Companion Handbook, visiting the Fun Stamp Collection Shop, and completing Elite Training missions.
Sparkling Sigils
Sparkling Sigils are similar to Sparkling Cubes, but instead, they turn an Aniimo you already have into a Sparkling Aniimo. The number of Sparkling Sigils may differ depending on the Aniimo.
To obtain Sparkling Sigils, you need to report any Sparkling Aniimos that you find during your ventures.
Sparklings in the Wild
Of course, there’s always a chance that you’ll randomly find a Sparkling Aniimo whilst exploring the open world. While the spawn rates of Sparklings are low, it’s not impossible. Even without buffs, such as the Branch and Nurturing boosts, Sparklings can spawn naturally.
