I was reading TGS impressions of Dead Account: Two Blue Flames, and its control setup sounds like an interesting compromise for a mobile action game. You directly move the leader with one hand, but basic attacks only happen while the character is standing still. Moving cancels the attacks, while active skills can be aimed manually or set to activate automatically. I can see how that could create a clear decision between repositioning and dealing damage. It also avoids filling a phone screen with separate movement and attack controls. At the same time, I wonder whether constantly stopping would feel deliberate or simply make movement less responsive. For people who play action roguelites on mobile, does that sound like a good fit for touch controls? What kind of feedback or targeting system would it need to make stopping feel like a tactical choice rather than a limitation? submitted by /u/Krbigman |
