Somewhere, somebody at Xitilon has decided that eight volumes of One Button Games 5-in-1 still aren’t enough. And so, here we are again, with One Button Games 5-in-1 Vol. 9, offering another five bite-sized arcade experiences for those who like their gaming simple to control but potentially rather difficult to master.
Priced at £4.19, the latest collection is available in three versions across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC. Developed by ABA Games and m1s3ry, the compilation once again explores just how much variety can be squeezed out of a single button.

Five Games, Five Very Different Problems
Vol. 9 doesn’t simply repeat the same challenge five times. Instead, each game puts its one-button control system to work in a different way, covering everything from space combat and mental arithmetic to platforming and physics-based challenges.
- UNCTRL – The alien invasion is underway, and you’re the last space barrier standing. Unfortunately, your missile guidance system is broken. Launch a guided missile and tap the button to move it up and down, attempting to destroy enemy ships while sweeping away their lasers for bonus points. The action ends when an enemy crosses your line or a laser hits you.
- B MATH – Things get considerably more educational in B MATH, although the pressure is still very much on. Players must solve equations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division while five possible answers rapidly cycle past. Choose the correct answer before time runs out. Get it right and you’ll recover some time; get it wrong and the clock becomes even less forgiving.
- BOTTOP – You are placed in an endless corridor alongside a doppelganger that mirrors every movement you make. Jump over enemies to earn points, or leap high enough to connect with your reflection for additional rewards. Touch an enemy on either side and the run is over.
- TEETER – You control platforms to guide falling balls into slots that can award points, add platforms or remove them. Different ball materials bounce in different ways, so keeping everything under control could become increasingly tricky.
- REFLECTOR – Return to the alien invasion, but this time you are put in charge of a ship equipped with a reflector shield. Deflect incoming shots from Martian tanks, overcharge the shield and send projectiles back with enough force to destroy multiple enemies in one go.
Another Collection To Add To The List
We’ve covered all eight previous volumes of the One Button Games series, so Vol. 9 arrives with a fair bit of history behind it.
If five more games aren’t enough, the One Button Games 5-in-1 All Volumes Bundle is available for £29.24. It includes all three versions of all nine volumes released so far, offering plenty of tiny arcade challenges for anyone determined to chase a high score.
One Button Games 5-in-1 Vol. 9 is another reminder that complicated controls aren’t essential for creating difficult games. Sometimes, all you need is one button, a rapidly approaching failure state and the questionable decision to have one more go. if you need your fix, hit up the Xbox Store.
