IRANIAN PRESIDENT HITS BACK
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian used a speech at the UN General Assembly to hit back at the United States after President Donald Trump suggested at the same forum on Tuesday that he might “annihilate” Iran . As the Nine papers point out, Pezeshkian’s speech was the “first time in the UN’s 81-year history that a foreign leader at war with the US addressed the body at its New York headquarters”.
Speaking in New York, the Iranian president accused the US of committing a war crime by bombing a school in the southern Iranian city of Minab in late February, killing 150 people, including 120 schoolchildren.
