Don't have whatever platform this was posted on so I'm gonna link the source where I've seen it: https://x.com/HazzadorGamin/status/2102667682382586100 Being miserable as a game developer shows why games are literally coming out half baked, with no soul and a total lack of love. Just like in culinary recipes, the most important ingredient is love. Being relieved that you were finally fired is not normal. People can just quit and look for another job, but hey, at xbox there's an easy paycheck to be had. Smaller games with tight knit teams, like KCD2, dawnwalker, expedition 33 and most indie games are dominating the industry despite way lower budgets. Why? Passion! They strive to create something they're proud of. They're not miserable and that does translate to their games. Yeah, like most jobs, game development is not an easy job, but a lot of people treat it like something different. It's not. There's 100× more people in other domains being fired every single day, yet this is the most tragic thing? Nah! submitted by /u/KvasirTheOld |
