There are few things more frustrating to lovers of shows than delays in production or release, with this most recently impacting Taylor Sheridan fans. The prolific writer’s Texas-set, podcast-inspired Landman has proven unmissable in its first two seasons, with the third expected to continue this trend seamlessly. However, it’s been far from smooth sailing for the series ahead of Season 3, with it recently being revealed by James Jordan that filming had been pushed back to September, which was the third delay in production.
But of all the recent delays, none have been more headline-grabbing than that of Apple TV’s The Savant, which was paused just three days before its premiere, in the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk. A spokesperson for Apple TV said, “After careful consideration, we have made the decision to postpone The Savant. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to releasing the series at a future date.” This was criticized by star Jessica Chastain, who said she was “not aligned on the decision to pause the release.”
It was Chastain herself who finally set the ball rolling on The Savant again back in April, as she promised the series was “on its way soon.” This “soon” has finally turned into a release window, with Apple TV officially confirming that The Savant will be released in Spring 2027, following November’s midterm elections. Inspired by a true-life story titled “Is It Possible to Stop a Mass Shooting Before It Happens?,”The Savant follows “an undercover investigator known as The Savant” who “balances life at home with tracking online hate groups to stop domestic extremists before they act.”

What Is the Most Popular Series on Apple TV Right Now?
No matter what side of the debate you sit on, there’s no doubt that the controversy surrounding The Savant will see huge viewership numbers, as people tune in to see what all this fuss has been about. However, the series is unlikely to reach the heights of the current Apple TV chart-topper, Ted Lasso, which isin the middle of its fourth season and staring down the target of 1000 days in the U.S. top ten.
