A list of the most popular PlayStation games in the US has been revealed by Sony via a new update, and while the list itself isn’t all that shocking it does reveal that Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is surpassing both Call of Duty Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty Warzone.
As you can see, the top 10 features the usual suspects such as Fortnite, Minecraft, and Grand Theft Auto V, with Marvel’s Wolverine just cracking the chart at number 10. However, Black Ops 2 is notable as the only Call of Duty game in the list. Activision released Call of Duty and Call of Duty Black Ops 2 for the PS4 & PS5 earlier this summer, and while they’re barebones ports, they still proved very popular with players and launched at a discount price.
- Fortnite
- Minecraft
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- NBA 2K27
- Marvel Rivals
- Rainbow 6 Siege
- MLB The Show 26
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
- Marvel’s Wolverine
As you can see above, the Call of Duty HQ app, where Black Ops 6, Black Ops 7, and Warzone are housed, didn’t make the cut. It’s worth pointing out that Call of Duty Black Ops 7 wasn’t exactly the most popular entry in the series with fans, which is why there’s a lot of hoped pinned on the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which is looking like a return to form. You can read our impressions from the beta here.
Call of Duty Black Ops II arrived in PS3, PC, Wii U, and Xbox 360 in November 2012 — Call of Duty Modern Warfare III plugged the gap between both Blacks Ops titles — and sets the action in the 1980s. This time around players switch between Alex Mason and Frank Woods, as well as following Mason’s son, David, in the year 2025, and introduces non-linear gameplay and multiple endings.
